Dealer and car loan tricks
When the deal wasn’t the deal
A dealer has to tell you the truth about the car and the loan. We read the paperwork line by line.
We compare what you were told with what you signed: the price, the rate, the add-ons and the car’s history. Some of these claims make the dealer pay your lawyer’s fees; when yours doesn’t, we tell you the sliding-scale fee first. You may still owe court costs.
We look for
Warranties, insurance and add-ons you didn’t ask for
A called-back deal at a higher rate
Hidden crash or flood damage, or a rolled-back odometer

What to bring
The papers that tell the story
The price sheet
The buyer’s order: the price and every add-on, line by line.
The loan contract
With the rate, the term and the amount financed.
Ads and texts
Anything the dealer promised in writing, even a text.
Dealer questions
The dealer says the financing fell through. Do I have to come back?
Don’t sign a new contract before someone reads both. Bring the first contract and any messages from the dealer.
Can I cancel the add-ons?
Many service contracts and add-ons can be canceled for a partial refund. We’ll look at what you were sold and how to get it back.
The car was in a wreck I wasn’t told about. What now?
Get a vehicle history report and an inspection if you can, and keep the car as it is. Then send an intake.
