Yetunde Okonjo

Staff attorney. Collection lawsuits, collectors and robocalls.

Yetunde answers collection lawsuits and goes after collectors and callers who break the rules.

Before the clinic she worked at the courthouse help desk, where she met people the morning their default judgment was entered. She runs the clinic’s Tuesday lawsuit-answer sessions and reads every robocall log that comes in.

The answer comes first

Most collection suits are won by default because nobody answers. An answer makes the debt buyer show the agreement, the history and its right to collect, and many can’t.

If you’ve been served, write down the date you got the papers and send an intake marked as a lawsuit.
